Project Promise is bringing the excitement of robotics to your students through the World Robot Olympiad™ (WRO®). World Robot Olympiad™ (WRO®) is a global robotics competition focused on creativity, engineering, and problem-solving skills. It was founded to bring together young people all over the world to develop their creativity, design and problem-solving skills through challenging and educational robot competitions and activities.
Project Promise has been named the National Organizer for the World Robotics Olympiad (WRO) Association. And in this role as National Organizer, we will help form robotics teams across the territory, provide training and supplies, and host a national competition. Project Promise invites schools, youth-serving organizations, community groups, and education partners across the U.S. Virgin Islands to participate in this global STEM opportunity.
Why Join WRO®?
-
Introduce students to robotics, coding, engineering, and innovation in a fun, engaging way and provide the opportunity to compete.
-
Strengthen critical thinking, teamwork, communication, and perseverance.
-
Give students real-world problem-solving experience through hands-on challenges.
-
Connect young people in the U.S. Virgin Islands to a respected international robotics community.
-
Help students build confidence and prepare for future academic and career opportunities in STEM fields.
How To Participate?
-
Getting started is simple: register your organization, select a teacher or adult leader to complete training, and launch your robotics club once training is complete. Established robotics clubs will be invited to participate in the national competition hosted by Project Promise.
-
The U.S. Virgin Islands WRO® national competition will be held in May 2027. The winning team will represent the U.S. Virgin Islands at the international competition in December 2027.
